The Norwalk Camera Club announces a major fundraising event, a photographic competition and
exhibit to benefit Earthplace - The Nature Discovery Center located at 10 Woodside Lane in Westport,
Connecticut. The Competition is judged by NECCC Judges Bill Barnett, John Lowe, and Art Vaughan.
The 2011 Competition is open to all photographers.

Freestyle category allows for creative post processing that exceeds the limits of the standard basic techniques of cropping, contrast, sharpening, etc. Innovative techniques that render unusual and artistic effects are being sought.
Images made be posed or candid settings, in good taste.
Judges will consider composition, technique, impact, and human interest when selecting the winning entries.
Previous Earthplace Competition entries are not eligible for this event. The Norwalk Camera Club reserves the right to determine the proper categories for entries.
All prints must be 8"x10" or larger, well mounted on good quality board so that they may be properly
handled and displayed. Maximum size is 16"x20" including mat. No frames or glass.
Clearly print entrant's name, image title, and subject category on the back side of the mounting board as shown on the right.
Digital image files must be named as X$LastName,FirstName$Image Title$EP2011.jpg
where X is the Category letter (W for Wildlife, S for Scenic,
G for General, H for Human Portrait, F for Free Style). LastName,
FirstName, and Image Title are self-explanatory; the only spaces allowed (if any)
are those between words in the Image Title field.
For example, an entry titled "Self Portrait" in the Portrait Category submitted by Betty Wisse
must be named
P$Wisse,Betty$Self Portrait$EP2011.jpg.
The resolution of the image must not exceed 1024x768 pixels and the size of the file should not exceed 400KB.
$8.00 per entry. For prints checks made out to Earthplace must be submitted when bringing entries to Earthplace at 10 Woodside Lane in Westport. The prints are also to be accompanied by a completed Official Entry Form; a blank Entry Form can be downloaded by clicking here. A blank Official Students' Entry Form can be downloaded by clicking here.
Digital entries are to be submitted by email and cannot be paid by check; they have to be paid for separately, via PayPal, using the Pay Now button below. The payment (in the amount $8 times the number of digital entries) could be made either before or after emailing entries.
First, using the drop-down menu, select a line describing a payment you want to make (e.g. "$24 for three entries"), and then click the Pay Now button; this will bring you to the Paypal screens. Follow the instructions there: pay either with your Paypal account (if you have one and want to use it) or with a credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express).
The last Paypal screen has a rectangular button "Pay Now" at its bottom. Under the address of the payee there is a line: "Add special instructions to the seller Add". Click on the "Add" and type in your full name and phone number into the window that gets opened on the click. Click "Save" button in the window then click the "Pay Now" button. The payment is now made.
The drop-down menu allows to pay for up to ten entries; if you submit more than ten, use the procedure above more than once.
Multiple digital entries may be attached to a single email. The email(s) must be addressed to okuperberg@optonline.net with a copy to ep2011@norwalkcameraclub.org. Subject line of the email should read: "Digital entries for 2011 Earthplace Competition". In the email body, include your full name, address, phone number, number of digital entries being submitted and the amount paid.
Digital entries must be received no later than 8:00pm Tuesday, October 25, 2011
